How does Subsplash Giving get into accounting software?
Subsplash’s help center offers two routes: export a CSV and reformat it for your ledger’s import, or, for QuickBooks, compare transfers by hand. Both work, but you’re the one moving the data. Grain is the third route. There’s no file to reformat, and each transfer is matched to its bank deposit for you.

Common questions
- Does Subsplash Giving integrate with QuickBooks?
- Not directly. Subsplash’s help center says to link the same bank account to both and compare each Subsplash transfer with QuickBooks yourself. Grain connects to Subsplash directly, so gifts arrive already mapped to their fund. If your books are in QuickBooks now, Grain’s migration support moves them over free.
- Do I need to export a CSV from Subsplash to use Grain?
- No. You enter your Subsplash API credentials in Grain once, and the sync runs from there. You can also run a sync on demand.
- How should I set up Subsplash funds before connecting?
- Mirror the funds you report on. Subsplash gives the same advice: match its fund structure to your third-party system’s. Don’t rename a fund, because Subsplash changes the name on past donations too, so last year’s gifts carry this year’s name. When you add a fund in Subsplash later, refresh the mapping in Grain.
